Building a Competitive Program By the early 2000s, the Salpointe girls' basketball program had begun to find its stride, with consistent playoff appearances and a state championship apperance in 2003 losing in the championship game to Highland. 3.In the 2020s, Salpointe Catholic's women's basketball program reached new heights, earning state and regional recognition. Some notable milestones include:

2021- The Lancers made it to the 4A State Championship. First time since 2003 the lancers made it that far in a state tournament. The Lancers eventually lost to Power house Seton Catholic 79-69.

2022-The Lancers won the 2022 AIA 4A State Championship, marking their first state title in the program’s storied history. This victory was a testament to the team's talent, hard work, and coaching, as they triumphed in a competitive field of teams.The team showcased strong offensive and defensive play throughout the tournament, and their teamwork was a key factor in securing the state title.

2023- Open Division Performance: Salpointe Catholic also earned a spot in the Open Division, which features the best teams across all classifications (4A,5A, 6A, etc.). While the Lancers may not have captured the Open Division title in 2023, their inclusion in the Open Division was an indicator of their program’s high level of play.In the Open Division, Salpointe reached the Final Eight, a remarkable achievement. In a highly competitive field, making it to the Final Eight showcased the team's ability to compete against some of the state’s top programs regardless of classification.

 

2024- In 2024, Salpointe Catholic’s women’s basketball team continued their tradition of excellence with another AIA 4A State Championship. Salpointe won the 2024 AIA 4A State Championship, claiming their second title ever in 2024. This victory further solidified their place as one of Arizona’s premier high school basketball programs in the state.

Salpointe proved that their program is consistently among the best in the state, regardless of the division or classification. Salpointe Catholic’s women’s basketball team claimed the 2022 and 2024 AIA 4A State Championships, marking a historic run of titles.Open Division Final Eight Appearance in 2023, the Lancers made it to the Open Division Final Eight, solidifying their status as one of Arizona's elite basketball programs.
