Kent is joining our staff from Canyon Del Oro.  Kent has over 12 years of experience coaching high school basketball.  He was the CDO head coach for the past 10 years.  He was named Arizona State Coach of the year 2012 and he received Region coach of the year multiple times.  His teams from 2012-2017 made numerous deep playoff runs.  He has had several players go on to play at the next level and his player Tianna Carter was named Southern Arizona Player of the Year back to back years.  He brings experience, creativity, and a caring persona to the team.  He is proud that in 10 years of leading the CDO program he has never had a parent issue.  His strengths are in helping kids improve their shooting.  He will work with all levels on shooting and he will focus on being a Varsity Assistant. Coach Kent won his first State Championship in 2024 with the lancers. Coach Kent is excited to join our staff and in our interview he simply stated "I want to help Salpointe become a dynasty!"
